PODCAST: Season 7, Episode 11
Grab a coffee and settle in. This week I’m getting into something that’s been coming up again and again in client conversations lately — that strange, uncomfortable place where things are going well on paper, but it still feels a bit heavy. A bit uncertain. A bit like one quiet month could tip the whole thing.
I’m also sharing a little personal update — I’ve just come back from 10 days in Thailand (more on that) and finished the month on £11,719 cash collected. Not to show off. But to normalise what’s actually possible when you build the right structure underneath your business.
Topics Covered:
- Why revenue that resets every month is a nervous system problem, not just a cashflow problem
- The difference between income that converts and income that compounds
- What over-holding looks like — and how it quietly limits your growth
- Why becoming the bottleneck is almost always a care problem dressed up as a control problem
- How to tell whether your business structure actually matches the level you’re trying to lead at
The Three Patterns I See Most:
1. The Revenue Reset You’re making money. The numbers are moving in the right direction. But every month still feels like you’re starting from scratch. That gap between where you’re thinking and where your income actually sits — that’s where the heaviness lives.
2. Over-holding You’re capable of doing everything, and that’s part of the problem. When too much flows through one person — client work, team, decisions, emotional weight — your nervous system doesn’t get to rest. And when your nervous system doesn’t rest, even small decisions start to feel enormous.
3. Stepping Back Into Delivery You’ve delegated. You’ve built something. And then something isn’t quite right and you just think — sod it, I’ll do it myself. One or two times, fine. But when that becomes a pattern, you become the bottleneck. And you might not even realise you’re doing it.
A Note on the Numbers:
February. Short month. I was away for 10 days in Thailand. £11,719 cash collected. That doesn’t happen by accident it happens because I’ve spent years building income that’s predictable, structured and doesn’t depend on me being glued to my phone. That’s the goal. Not the big spiky months. The reliable ones.
