My experience & journey
I’ve spent the last two decades building, scaling, and simplifying businesses, not just one, but several, across very different industries. What’s stayed consistent isn’t the niche, but the work itself: designing businesses that are profitable, predictable, and able to run without consuming the person behind them.
My journey started over 20 years ago after returning from travelling with one clear realisation: I didn’t want to work for anyone else. I wanted autonomy, ownership, and the freedom to build something on my own terms. That led to my first business; a painting holiday retreat company in Portugal, where I hosted over 200 clients a year and learned, quickly, how real businesses actually function. Lead generation, sales, operations, delivery, planning, all of it mattered if the business was going to last.
Since then, I’ve built and scaled multiple income streams, including wellness businesses (where I ranked in the top 2% of a US brand, generating over $480k in annual revenue), property, retreats, and consultancy. Each business taught me something different, but the biggest lesson was this: growth without structure always comes at a cost.
Over time, I stopped chasing expansion for its own sake and started designing for stability, predictability, and capacity. That’s what allowed me to build businesses with consistent revenue, long-term visibility, and space to lead, without everything relying on me.
