The Spiritual Push:

  • Real, messy stories about leadership, growth, and scaling
  • Client stories woven throughout
  • My family life included (because business doesn’t happen in a vacuum)
  • Written with humour (I literally laugh while writing it – is that weird?)
  • Each chapter follows a similar structure with practical audits
  • Illustrations throughout! (Because why not?)

My Writing Process:

  • NO book writing retreats (not my vibe)
  • Snatching creative moments when they strike
  • Last night: typing away while family watched Breaking Bad (88 seasons and I’m NOT rewatching it!)
  • Writing in snippets, not marathon sessions
  • Sending sections to my best mate Steph for feedback
  • She’s my sounding board (and she’s brilliant at it!)
  • Responding to her questions shapes what I write next (very generator of me!)

The Dream Team:

  • Steph: My non-business-world best mate giving reader feedback
  • Helz: Creating illustrations and front cover design
  • Legal Lucy: Advising on book naming and legal stuff (asking her next week at retreat!)
  • PR person: Hiring someone to help get it into people’s hands (because I want this to be BIG)

The Plan Moving Forward:

  • Self-publishing (not pitching to traditional publishers)
  • Each chapter will have practical audit elements (like my podcasts!)
  • Front cover idea: sorted ✓
  • Name idea: sorted ✓ (but I’m not telling you yet!)
  • Considering ads and PR campaigns
  • Aiming for Q2 2025 launch

The Real Talk:

  • I don’t NEED it to be number one… but if it is, I’d be bloody delighted
  • I want it big enough to feel worth it
  • Can’t do it alone – hence the PR hire
  • Still working with all my consultancy clients while doing this
  • Plus doing everyone’s done-for-you content
  • Busy bee status: activated

November Business Strategy

Why November Matters:

  • November is THE month for selling before December’s lull
  • People ARE buying – don’t use Christmas as an excuse
  • Product-based businesses: buckle up, this is your biggest bump
  • Service-based businesses: get cracking with your offers

My November Strategy:

  • Three-day Telegram event is my November offer
  • NO Black Friday from Mills Gray HQ
  • Focusing on intimate, high-value experience
  • If you’re doing Black Friday: good luck! (But it’s not for everyone)

What’s Happening in My World:

  • October: Did a retreat, fully booked with consultancy clients, cold water swimming at Salesy near Portsmouth
  • Tomorrow: Sauna and freshwater dip at new local venue
  • November: Another retreat next week (check me out!)
  • Half term: Kids out at Halloween parties (tonight makes party number… I’ve lost count)
  • Eldest daughter Isla: Mocks coming up, cracking the revision whip
  • Back-to-back GCSE years (Sadie last year, Isla this year)
  • If you’re also pushing kids to revise: solidarity, friend
